Week #8: Cherryblossom Ending

What I did:

- On Monday, I practiced for 10 minutes of different chords of D chord

- On Wednesday, I found a new, different online source. I used to use Andy guitar but now I will use 어썸기타 channel in YouTube. This is more attracting because it has more videos of songs. They don't technically teach but show the chords of what songs you would like to play. I practiced "Let it go".

- "Let it Go" seemed easy because I was familiar with the chords but it was too fast for me to learn.

-On Thursday, I learned from Siyong during lunch, of how to play "Cherryblossom Ending" and "Let it Go". It had been 2 weeks I haven't learned from him. I wanted to play "Cherryblossom Ending" before but could not because I only used the first two frets during my whole guitar journey. Using the frets way down to the 6 fret was a new challenge for me.

-However, "Cherryblossom Ending" was much easier than "Let it Go"

-On Friday, I filmed the chords I learned yesterday.

Reflection:

This week was surely a gifted week.

In music class, we were to do an interesting project till the end of March.

We needed to make a creative project related to music.

Some students were dancing and some were making a music video.

I wanted to dance, but due to my lack of time in playing guitar, I decided to stick on with my guitar.

Honestly, I did not want to play guitar for my music project, but this was also my chance to have a time to practice my guitar.

I like learning new things.

But I would get easily tempted to other new projects.

This week Mr. Ramsey said we could change our 20% time if needed.

I wanted to change my project to preparing art-portfolio or film-portfolio, which is related to what I am interested in and like to major. Since I want to become a film major and become a Producer or a director of news or documentary ( not that specific yet).

But somehow, I felt guilty of changing my project, although Mr. Ramsey had given us a chance.

My project may seem like an individual project, however, part of it is not since Siyong had been working together with me to succeed my goal in playing guitar well.

I surely did not reach that goal yet.

And considering how much effort Siyong put for me, I thought it'd be betraying his kindness.

With my unfinished guitar skill, I would not be able to achieve Siyong's goal which was to have more guitarists in the Chapel Band.

So, I decided not to change my 20% project since I had no reason but less patience in what I was doing.

I would need to do my best, so that I could play guitar in Chapel Band as well.

Then what should I do with my film-portfolio?

Mr. Kim suggested me today to make a film project for my portfolio.

Although I am interested in editing videos, I am horrible at it.

So this time, instead of making just a single video of what I learned,

I worked on the design of my video.

This work was very convenient than I thought, because of the advanced phone applications that are prevalent in app stores. The app I used was "InShot". I just had to search and work on it, rather than complaining where should I start.

From now on, I will try to focus on the quality of the video as well as trying my best to raise the quality of my guitar skills ! :D
